So, if you're a follower of this blog, you should know by now that I love watching red carpet events so that I can see all the beautiful outfits.
I was literally counting down the days to this years Oscars, and I watched the red carpet shows on E! and Sky One, so as not to miss any must see dresses!
I wasn't dissappointed... there were so many beauties this year.
I've whittled it down, and these are my top picks of the night (in no particular order)...
Okay, so I said 'no particular order', but as much as it pains me to say it, Miley Cyrus wore my favourite dress of the night. I love the simplicity of this dress, yet it is still so elegant, pretty and young. It's like a princess dress. I love the colour, and the shape. I think the corset style top with the bow on the back is stunning.
Jennifer Lopez - a beautiful woman, in a beautiful dress. A real statement piece, when I saw this I just thought 'wow!' I agree with people saying it's very OTT, however I think if you can wear it, why not?! Thats what the Oscars are for, and I think she looks fabulous in it. The simple hair, accessories, jewellery etc really complement it also.

Rachel McAdams chose the dress with the most beautiful colours, I absolutley adore this dress.
Penelope Cruz always seems to impress me, and even though she's kind of managed to camoflage herself against the red carpet, this dress looks so classic and elegant. The colour completley works with her skintone/hair colour and I love how the top part of the dress gives it a slightly modern edge.
Sandra Bullock is another of my all time favourites. She reminds me of a 50's movie star here. Great hair and makeup, teamed with a wonderful dress makes this a winning look. I'm not quite sure how she managed not to trip over it at some point though!
Charlize Theron wore one of the most talked about dresses of the night. It was a bit of a 'love it or hate it' look, personally I love it. I think the colours are gorgeous, and the fact that she has taken a risk, definatley gets the tumbs up from me!
Beautiful dress here from Demi Moore, I just love everything about this one. The fitted body into the flowing skirt is so flattering and feminine.

I've also just noticed how many of these celebirites chose to go for very simple, tied back hairstyles and simple make up for this years event. It was definatley on trend to let the clothes do the talking this year.
