Saturday Night's Alright!

Sorry I haven't blogged all weekend girlies, I've been away visiting friends :)

I love a good excuse to dress up, and a Saturday night out with the girls is no exception.
When I’m going on a night out, my makeup generally stays the same, the only difference is I put on a little extra bronzer, my lipstick gets brighter and my hair gets bigger.
A night out is also the only time I wear heels and I always wear a dress (except for the time I wore my shorts).
As soon as I saw this dress I loved it, for a few reasons; I really like bodycon dresses, I think they’re super flattering and always look good, I also love the black and white stripes (I’m loyal to Newcastle haha!)

This dress in particular is from Rise Fashion, which is a brand best known for having concession items in stores such as House of Fraser and Dorothy Perkins.

They currently have a sale on their website, and it includes some beautiful dresses! Check out my favourites here and here, which I will hopefully be snapping up for myself on payday!

Read The Small Print

I still look poorly in these photos. It's making me cringe.
I was going to take some new photos today of me in my referee outfit which I have concocted for tomorrow night, but I've been out all day and now I just can't be bothered! I guess I will just show you the photos of me wearing it from tomorrow night.
Luckily I took these yesterday, so, if you will... here are some I prepared earlier.
I just wish I'd noticed the sun shining through the window onto my dress when I was taking these... bit annoying!
Anyway, this was one of those items of clothing where, as soon as you see it, you know you're going to buy it. I saw this on the New Look website about three weeks before it came into my store, and I grabbed it as soon as I saw it on our delivery rail. I love a bit of leopard print, and of course peter pan collars are one of my favourite things right now.
I've been wearing it with my leather shorts from Topshop or my bodycon skirt  underneath though, because it's a little too short for comfort.

I was served today by a girl in Topshop who had the most beautiful hair in the world, it was blonde with dark roots, and it was all messy and curly... sounds awful, but it was gorgeous! I plan on recreating the look (minus the blonde) for my night out.
I also did a good deed today and bought a Big Issue from a guy in town, it made me feel really good about myself, I think I'm going to do it more often.

Thanks to all my new followers, and of course to all my original followers for the comments etc, it means a hell of a lot xx

Fill Your Boots

I bought these boots about two months ago now, and I’ve practically lived in them since. I thought seeing as though my outfit posts don’t show my shoes, I would dedicate an entire blog post to these beauties. (I haven't shown you any of my shoes since this post in August!)
I love everything about them; the colour, the buckle, the shearling cuff...
I just think they're such a classic style boot, with a really stylist twist.
The only thing which took a little getting used to for me was the heel. I know it's only a tiny heel, but as i never ever wear heels during the day time, it did take me a while to adjust!
Sorry they look a little 'well worn' in these pictures, but they really have been well worn, and they're just getting softer and comfier by the day.
Obviously due to the furry detail they are more suited to being winter boots, but I am sure I will find a way of styling them so that I can continue to wear them as much as possible over the coming months.
I've mostly been teaming them up with little dresses and tights, with outfits like this and this.

They are still available on the New Look website, but only in limited sizes... I'm sure you'll be able to track them down in store too... they're such a bargain!

Birds Eye View

I'm suffering from flu again, so excuse my face in these pictures... I tried to look happy I promise!

I'm not the best sale shopper in the world, in fact, I usually try to avoid it altogether. However this year I dared to get stuck in there with those hardcore shoppers, you know the ones who literally throw the clothes over their shoulders and onto the floor as they rummage through the rails and elbow other shoppers out of the way?! I'm quite proud to say I participated in no pushing and shoving, but I did manage to pick up some bargains.

This is the first of my purchases I have got to show you, a cute little dress from River Island. I love this colour, even though it fits right into the Autumn/Winter trend we are just coming out of, I don't really think you can go wrong with burgundy/berry colours, and as I have mentioned in previous blog posts, I am slightly obsessive about anything with birds on them, so this dress was just screaming out to me! It's really flattering with an empire style waist and has such cute buttoned pockets, I'm so happy I found it.
With the dress having the long sleeves, I generally wouldn't style it with anything on top, but I've been feeling the cold quite a bit since being poorly, so I chose to layer up and wear my trusty New Look cardigan (the same as I wore in this post).
River Island isn't a shop I tend to go to very often, I find it's usually too cramped for me with my pram (maybe thats just my local store) and although I do have a soft spot for their purses and bags, I much prefer New Look and Topshop. I saw quite a lot of things I liked while I was in there buying this dress though, so I might start to venture in there more often!

New Look Spring/Summer 2011

I've seen lots of blog posts featuring Primark's Spring/Summer collection, but haven't seen any about New Look's upcoming range.  I thought I would share some of my favourite pieces with you.

The lookbook they have released is massive, and it features clothes, shoes, jewellery, bags, lingerie and swimwear, however I've mainly focused on the clothes here.
They seem to have taken inspiration from the 1970's with lots of bold prints and wide legged trousers (although I haven't included any of those here... I'm not a fan), as well as channeling the style of American Apparel in the sports like pieces.
Key colours are bright reds, blues and yellows mixed in with alot of white.

Okay, so on with my favourite bits, in no particular order...
I'm probably going to keep saying this throughout this post, but I can definitely see myself buying the first playsuit, I love the bow tie on the waist and the detailed edging on the shorts.
The first outfit here just makes me think of walking along the beach in the evening while on holiday, and I adore this blouse in the second picture!
The little shorts in both pictures here are so cute and versatile! The scalloped edges on the red shorts make them look so much more pricey than they actually are... I love all of the extra detailing they have incorporated to this collection. The top and cardigan in the first picture here are made with such a gorgeous fabric, there are also shorts and bootcut trousers available in this pattern.
All of these images show perfect holiday outfits, ideal for night time, day time etc... I love it all!
This dress will be a must have for me! I love the Aztec meets Tribal pattern and the hook and eye detailing.

Finally, I wasn't going to include any accessories, but these three are my top picks! The bag is gorgeous, and the hat... what a bargain! I can't wait for summer now!

Stars of the Golden Globes 2011

The Golden Globes are one of my favourite star studded events of the year, and even though I was too tired to stay up and watch the event unfold on TV last night, I was straight on the internet this morning to have a good look at the outfits I missed! I haven't even looked at who won what yet... the outfits definitely come first.
For me, there were no major disasters this year, for one, it didn't rain (wohooo!!) and secondly, even though there were some outfits I wouldn't choose, noone stood out as a big mess! My favourite dresses were almost all along a similar colour theme of neutral, creams and golds, and I think all of the following looked stunning:
My favourite of the night, Carrie Underwood wearing a stunning Badgley Mischka dress with a simple up do to complement it perfectly, and Scarlett Johansson who never fails on the red carpet.
Sandra Bullock sporting a gorgeous blunt fringe, and Anne Hathaway glittering in a scoop back Armani dress selected for her by Rachel Zoe.
Leighton Meester looked as beautiful as always and Gia Mantegna who was 'Miss Golden Globe' this year wore a very simple, but striking gown.
Adding a little Peach and colour to my favourites list, Lea Michelle wearing an amazing dress by my favourite designer Oscar de la Renta (you will know how much I love Lea's style too, if you read my blog post about her last year). Emma Stone also looked gorgeous, in a very understated Calvin Klein dress.
Usually you can't go wrong with a black dress, but this year only two ladies who made this choice have made it onto my favourites! Julia Stiles is my favourite of the two, wearing a Romona Keveza dress, but I love the simplicity of Julianne Hough's choice, with the statement neck piece.
And finally, doing it for the boys, Mark Salling looked GORGEOUS!!

What was your favourite outfit this year?

Thats Peachy Chats [part 7]

So this is my first catch up post of 2011.
I’m definitely trying to be a better blogger this year, I didn’t make any resolutions, but I kind of promised myself that I’d post more often. I did start out trying to post out once a day, which lasted for a whole seven days, but then my boyfriend borrowed my laptop for his uni work, and I couldn’t manage the next few days. So, now I’m aiming for at least 1 post every 2 days… which is achievable… I think!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I’m off work this week which is nice because I didn’t have any time off over Christmas and New Year really, just the odd day here and there. I’m going to Northampton this weekend for a birthday night out with one of my best friends who I don’t see very often because she lives so far away - I’m super excited! Other than that, I haven’t got anything planned for my time off… just spending some time with Elodie and my boyfriend before he goes back to Uni.

We’re just having a lazy day today, eating Sunday dinner… gammon and roasties mmmmm, and listening to the football Derby Day (I’m  a Newcastle fan incase you didn’t know!) Then of course I will be spending the night watching Dancing On Ice… I think I want Jeff Brazier to win, isn’t he cute?!!
[sorry for the old myspace esque pic haha!]
I managed to pick up the two free Nails Inc polishes which I wanted from the Diet Coke offer in Boots this week… I got ‘Denim’ and ‘Heather Grey’, and they’re both beautiful! Oh and don’t forget to collect your copy of the News Of The World today girlies, I’ve now got both of my vouchers, so I’ll be searching for Tesco which stocks Models Own makeup so I can get my freebies!

I want to say a big thank you to the beautiful Zoe for mentioning my blog in her latest blog post, I’m so grateful and honoured that a blogger as successful as Zoe thinks my blog is good enough to read! If you don’t already follow her fabulous blog, I suggest you skip over there now and check it out :)
And following on from that, a big hello to all of my new followers! Each time I see that number increase, it honestly makes me so happy!

Hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday xx

Feelin' Blue

Don't you just hate it when you wear something which looks pretty amazing, and then you photograph it and it looks a bit blahh... well that's what has happened here. I wore this blouse today, and it is definitely one of my favourite outfits I've worn in a long time. I felt comfortable, smart and felt like it flattered my figure, then when I looked at the photos it just didn't look anything special at all. What a shame :(
Entire Outfit: New Look

I'm not sure why this blouse doesn't look how it does in real life here, maybe it's the fabric, maybe it's the lighting (I left it a bit late tonight and some of the colouring is a little 'off')... I dunno!
Anyway, I still love it. We have about five different colours in store at the moment, and I've so far only purchased this one as I was instantly drawn to the fabulous blue colour, which looks really rich and expensive with the gold buttons. There is also a coral one which keeps catching my eye too!
Unfortunately, they're not on the website yet, so I can't give you a link, but I'm pretty sure if you have a look in store you will find at least one or two of the colours.
I can guarantee I will be featuring this blouse on here again so maybe I will get the pictures right, so you can see it's true fabulousness!
As for the belt, I'm obsessed with birds, it's something to do with my Grandad's love for bird watching, but everything I see which has a bird on it, I buy! My next tattoo is going to be a bird as well :)

I have a whole week off work now, I don't quite know what I'm going to do with myself (other than re-ombre-ing my hair), but I will definitely spend some time writing up some blog posts I have planned.
