This & That

Bad, bad lighting in these pictures... it makes me sad!
I'm still going ahead with this post thought, because I love this outfit.

It was literally thrown together, with no thought put into it what so ever, and in my opinion, it totally worked!
Sometimes I think, not thinking about what you're piecing together, actually works best for outfit building.

The blouse is a little bargain I picked up for £1.50 in a charity shop, its a lovely silky fabric, from Warehouse, and the skirt is a Topshop one I bought about three years ago, and it's been tucked in my wardrobe with the tags on ever since!

Thats Peachy Chats [part 12]

I need your help!
I have an interview on Tuesday. I'm not usually nervous, but for this one I am really scared!

I've been umming and ahhing about what to wear.
Ideally I want to wear a dress, I want to show my own personal style, yet still look smart.
The job is in fashion retail management...
This is what I'm currently planning on wearing, with a chunky necklace of some kind, some bangles and a statement ring or two, black tights and probably my brogue style boots...

I'm going to keep my makeup really simple, but maybe wear some bright nail varnish to add a pop of colour (colour suggestions please!), and hair up or down?
What do you think?

I don't really want to buy anything specifically for the interview you see... so I hope this works!

P.S. Sorry this is an old photo, taken from this blog post.

L.O.V.E.

Sorry I've been a bit AWOL lately, I've had quite a lot on... some good, some bad.
Thank you all so much for the response to my previous blog post about my daughter, I wasn't sure an off topic post would go down very well, but seems like it did!

Just a pretty basic outfit here, obviously not what I wore today (it's so damn cold!), I wore this last week when the sun was out. Looking at these photos now, I'm not sure how flattering it actually is (eek), but who cares, it was hot!

The whole outfit is from the New Look sale, which has been so amazing! Have you shopped it? We reduced £35 dresses to £9! Some people must have really grabbed some bargains.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend so far! xx

Blogging Mammy

Being a blogger is hard work.
Being a blogger who works full time is even harder.
I thought I'd share with you all, what it's like to be a blogger who works and has a child... as you can imagine, it's hard!
If you don't already know, I am Mother to a 22 month old, wonderful little girl called Elodie (pronounced like Melody without the 'M'... people ask me that all the time!)

I first set up this blog when I was pregnant. I had been reading blogs for around a year before I decided to write my own, and when I was on maternity leave, it felt like the perfect time to start. I didn't have much else to do towards the end, I left my job at Topshop when I was 7 months pregnant, spent the first month off getting everything prepared for baby's arrival, and then the last month was just a waiting game! As if by magic, Elodie arrived on her due date, so I didn't have long to wait.

When I gave birth, the blog obviously took a back seat, I was too busy to even shower, let alone blog!
Two weeks later, I came back to my blog, to introduce my daughter, and from then on I posted quite sporadically, using stock photos to create posts. Taking my own photos was just impossible, with my sleep pattern messed up, endless visitors and a baby to feed and change, blogging wasn't my priority. Plus I wasn't looking my best... making bottles at 4am doesn't help with the under-eye circles, plus no makeup, 24/7 bed hair and living in PJ's isn't exactly the best look for a chic fashion blogger like me (haha I joke).

It wasn't until Elodie was 5 months old, when I really got back into regular blogging.
I was lucky to have a really good sleeper, she would always nap around 1pm for a couple of hours, which gave me some 'me' time, and by the time she was 2 months old, she wasn't waking in the night, so once she was in bed, I knew she was going to sleep right through. I didn't return to work until Elodie was 10 months old, which was in the August, so baby nap time = blogging time (as well as the time to squeeze in many other things!)

In the February, I started including my own photos again, using the times when she was bouncing in her jumperoo or in a trance watching Mickey Mouse to snap some quick outfit photos! And when I say quick, I mean quick, having a baby under a year old really does require constant attention!

Now that Elodie is older, and she can play with her toys, read her books and entertain herself, blogging has become a lot easier. I love my blog so much, I never wanted to have to give it up completely.

I try to blog at least three times a week, and sometimes Elodie wants to 'help'. I have endless photos of products with her little hands reaching in to grab them, and outfit photos with a little head at the bottom peeping up at me... I swear she thinks her Mammy is crazy sometimes!
Elodie loves watching me put my makeup on, she's always stealing my brushes and pretending to do her blusher! She's also obsessed with nail varnish, and notices every time I change the colour of my nails... I just know by the time she's four or five she will be begging to try my lipsticks and hair her nails painted! Watch out, she'll be starting a blog soon haha!

I know this is a little off topic, but I get quite a few other Mothers asking me questions about blogging, and I thought it could be an interesting read. I hope that's the case!

PS. In the first photo, I am not applying makeup to her face, the brush is clean. I also never have, and never would.

Monday Mugshot #8

I have such a bad headache tonight, I can't wait to snuggle up on bed with a hot chocolate and go to sleep. It's been a bit of a manic day, I slept in this morning and managed to get up, get ready and actually get to work in 20 minutes - record timing! I think it was just a bad start to a bad day to be honest!

I've been catching up on some TV since I got in, I've watched Dinner Date, Hollyoaks and next I'm going to watch Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model (which I am already addicted to!) Plus, Ronan Keating is on it tonight... YUM YUM!!

I'm wearing my latest addition to my Barry M collection on my nails in this picture 'Blue Moon'... I'm going to try and get a review of it up on here tomorrow :)

Hope you're all keeping well, and thanks so much to my new followers! HELLO :) xx

Pretty Woman

I might as well be an ambassador for New Look, because once again, my whole outfit is from there.
Except the rings (1 from Topshop, 1 from Primark) and the headband from H&M... Ok, so half my outfit is from New Look!
I loved this top as soon as I set eyes on it, it reminds me of the dress Julia Roberts wears to the races in the film Pretty Woman! I love that film, so I had to have this. I just need the hat now!
It's such a lovely fabric, with a pleat down the front from the neckline and buttons all the way down the back, which I think its a really cute little extra detail.

Once again, I am wearing my old faithful brogue boots and denim hotpants. Can't get enough of these!

Chop Chop

Lately it seems like everyone is chopping off their hair!
I'm a big fan of shorter hair on pretty much anyone but myself! There have been times when I've been brave and gone for the chop, but I've majorly regretted it. You may remember a few months ago when I was considering going shorter, and I still kind of want to... but maybe not too short!
I think everyone has an opinion on Frankie's new hair. My initial reaction was the same as everyone else I know 'OH MY GOD WHAT HAS SHE DONE?!' but now... I love it. Yes it's drastic, but it's oh so stylish. Lets face it, she has the perfect face to pull it off. When I look at pictures of her trademark hair cut now, I think it looks outgrown and dated. I'm definitely all for this new look.
Cheryl's done the double whammy by cutting and colouring her hair. First up, I love this cut, it's something I would be brave enough doing. I think it's cute and quirky, although it will grow out really fast and need a lot of upkeep. The colour... I'm not loving it. I've always thought 'wor Chezza looked better dark.
I'm undecided on Pixie's new do. I think I need to see more pictures. I've been a big fan of her hippie boho look, so this is very different for her. I think my decision on whether I love or hate it will purely depend on how she wears it. I think if she styles it with a lot of volume and texture, it could be a really good look.
Last up, Cher Lloyd. She debuted her new look last weekend at T4 on the Beach. She's gone all out and shaved the side of her head, then ombred and dip dyed the other side of her hair pink! For me, it's way too much. I think she suited her natural looking, long, dark hair more than any other look she has tried. The shaved head is a style I like, but only on Rihanna (and Mel B actually suited it too). Cher looks a mess... she's not doing the ombre look any favours either!

Are any of these looks inspiring you to go for the chop?!

Yesterday

This is what I wore yesterday for a quick dash to the Metro Center. I bought the cardigan in the Topshop sale about two weeks ago, and planned on putting it away until September time, but yesterday was so cold, I really needed it! So much for summer!

I love my leopard print tights, another Topshop purchase, although I'm not brave enough to wear them with anything other than plain black. I think the make more of a statement that way anyway.

The dress is an old lace New Look one, which I posted about in my 'Interview Attire' post. It's one of those dresses which just never fails me. It looks great teamed with pretty much anything.

Finally, I added the belt after looking back at the photos I had taken without one. I thought the outfit needed that little something extra. I teamed this look up with my New Look black brogue boots and my black saddle bag.

Emma Watson

AMAZING! Every time I see Emma, I love her a little bit more.

Monday Mugshot #7

Sorry I don't have much to talk about in this post, I haven't had the best day ever...
I blogged earlier though, and would love your feedback on that!

Still couldn't miss my Monday Mugshot though!
Excuse my makeup-less face!

Thats Peachy Chats [part 11]

It's been a whole three months since I wrote a 'Thats Peachy Chats' post.
This is just going to be a quick one, asking for a little feedback and advice about what you want from my blog.
I'm feeling a little lost on here at the moment.
My blog initially started out as a beauty blog with a bit of fashion, then developed into being more fashion based (which is what I really enjoy).
I like to add a bit of personal stuff, just so my blog feels a bit more 'real', and I get a lot of requests to write about celebrity events.
I do enjoy writing about celebrities, but I'm not too sure if That's Peachy is the place for that!

Basically, I'm asking for your opinions.

What kind of posts do you enjoy most?
Is there anything you would like me to include more of?
Or anything you would like me to stop writing about?
What do you like best/least about my blog?

I kind of just go with the flow at the moment, and post whatever I want, but I'm not too sure if that's a bit too blahh... should my blog have more definition?

Any constructive criticism is welcome!

Thanks xx

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Red Carpet... worst dressed!

Why is it, that there are always more fashion disasters on a red carpet than anything else?!
Following up from my best dressed list, here is my worst dressed list from the Harry Potter Premiere.
Bonnie Wright & Evanna Lynch
I love the colour of Bonnie's outfit, and the style of the top, but I just don't think it is flattering at all.
Evanna's dress is cute, but definitely not 'red carpet' style, it's more nightie-chic! I don't like her shoes either.
Helena Bonham Carter & JK Rowling
Helena is just too crazy for me, I hate the hat and the bag is even worse! Which is a shame, because the dress is actually quite nice.
I can't help but feel a little disappointed by JK's dress, I love the style and the shape, it's just the colour I'm not a fan of.
Clemency Poesy & Chloe Green
Clemency's is probably my least favourite dress of the night, it just looks like shredded toilet roll! The neckline and shoulders are also really strange looking.
I don't think Chloe has an excuse for looking this bad, let's face it, she has the entire pick of Topshop, and somehow ends up looking like she's going for a night out at China White instead of to a red carpet event!
Helen McCrory
Lastly, Helen's outfit is just really dated. The top half is so plain and boring, and with it being see through, it just makes me hate it even more.

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Red Carpet

The stars of the show!
Rupert went for a daring snake skin black suit, while Daniel opted for gray.
Emma, of course, looked amazing in her Oscar de la Renta dress and definitely won the title of 'best dressed', although to be honest, there wasn't much competition.
The only other outfit of the night which I really liked, was worn by Mollie King of The Saturdays.
So pretty and simple, I love the long length of the back of the dress, and her hair looks great.

If you're interested in seeing a worst dressed list, it would be a much longer post than this one!
Do you like Emma and Mollie's dresses?

Leopard Love

Items 1-5: Topshop

I seem to have acquired a love for all things leopard print recently. I really want to get my hands on all of these pieces!

I almost bought the first top yesterday, but they didn't have my size. It really reminds me of a Sid & Nancy top I bought from Topshop a few years ago, which I've worn to death, so I know if I bought this one, I would definitely get a lot of wear out of it.

I love the contrast of the bright orange next to the leopard print on the second top. If I don't get this one, it has inspired me to mix some brights with animal print when putting together outfits.

The boots are a bit of a dream! I adore them! The leopard print, plus the scalloped edging... gorgeous!

The leggings are also a must have for my wardrobe. They remind me of the paneled leggings H&M did last year (which I missed out on), and although they're a bit pricey (£22)... I still really want them!

Breathe In

 Top: New Look
Shorts: New Look
Belt: Peacocks
Tights: Topshop

I have been wearing the life out of these shorts lately. They kind of remind me of 80's cut off Levis, with the high waist, and the big pockets on the bum. This is the first time I've tucked anything into them, because they're so tight fitting, I've previously avoided doing this, but with the belt, I actually prefer them dressed this way.
You can see how I styled them previously in an older blog post.

I'm making a prediction that there is going to be loads of this mustard colour around in the upcoming Autum/Winter season, along with more rust colours like last year. I'm not complaining, I love anything along those lines, mixed with denims and creams as well, I think they can look great.

Going to upload some more bits on my blog shop tonight too, so have a little nosey!

Monday Mugshot #6

Today has been lovely.
I spent this morning relaxing at home with my little girl, and then this afternoon we headed to the shops with my boyfriend for a little bit of retail therapy.

I think it was just what to doctor ordered. I've been majorly stressed all week at work, it's been our busiest week to date, and it's totally worn me out. I feel like I'm literally sleeping, breathing everything New Look at the moment, so a nice day off was perfect.

I only really went into Topshop, I was looking for the things from the sale which I was too slow in ordering before they sold out, but had no luck. I still came away with a lovely cardigan and a ring though, so all wasn't lost.

We're about to watch the film Unknown, I love Liam Neeson, so I'm hoping it will be good!

PS. I promise to stop taking my Monday Mugshot photos so late from now on... they're always so dark!

Wherefore Art Thou?

These are the boots I've been dreaming about owning for months now.
Topshop Aiden boots... mmmmmm!
I didn't really want to pay the hefty price tag though, £68 to me is a little bit steep for boots.

As soon as I found out they had gone into the sale for just £35 a couple of weeks back, I knew they had to be mine.
I have literally called every single Topshop within a 3 hour radius of my house, and nowhere has either colour in my size :(
Maybe it's just not meant to be...
