I'm sure those of you in the UK have either seen or been caught up in the floods over the past few days. I've been stuck in my house due to the roads all around my area being flooded, so yesterday I decided to have a bake day with Elodie to pass the time.
I found a nice simple cake recipe on the Baking Mad website for us to make. I didn't want anything too complicated because baking with a 3 year old can get quite messy, so we went with chocolate chip fairy cakes.
Elodie loved mixing the ingredients together, especially when we added the chocolate chips!
Unfortunately she's a little bit of a fussy eater and she won't eat anything with icing on, so we had to skip the decoration part.
Although the finished cakes look a little boring, they were really delicious, and probably the moistest cakes I've ever made!
I'm definitely going to use the same website in the future, as there are some great Christmas recipes for kids and Elodie loved baking so much, and I'll be getting my Christmas cake recipe from there too.
Let me know if you try out any of the recipes or recommend some for me to try next.
