When I'm not at work and I'm just popping out for dinner or to the shops, I have a very simple, basic makeup routine that I tend to stick to. It's nothing fancy, but it makes me feel like I'm 'done' enough to go out. (I'm one of those people who would never go out without makeup on!) I have to admit that the title of this post is a little bit of a lie, it's more of a five minute and a few seconds beauty routine, but five minutes sounds better.
I start off with my base; I use the Murad Skin Perfecting Primer, Matte Finish which I buff into my skin using the Real Techniques Stippling Brush, I then cover any problem areas (usually my chin) and under my eyes with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and then apply my foundation; at the moment I'm back to using the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation (click for my review) in 'Ivory'. I also apply this with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush. Lastly I add a light dusting of powder to set my foundation, at the moment I am using the Collection Lasting Perfection Powder, but I also love the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (click for my review).
Next, and most importantly I fill in my brows... when it comes to this simple 5 minute look, I just use the powder from the Sleek Brow Kit (click for my review) and lightly perfect the shape of my brows and fill them in. I use one coat of Benefit Bad Gal mascara on my top and bottom lashes and that's my eyes done. These are the two steps that I would never ever skip. If I had one minute to get ready I'd definitely spend it on my brows and my lashes.
Using the Real Techniques Contour Brush I add a bit of colour to my cheeks. Lately I've been reaching for my Sleek Lace Palette (click for my review), and finally I add a coat of one of my Miners Crystal Crush lip glosses (in the photo I'm wearing Cosmic Kiss). Sometimes I don't bother with the gloss, and just use a bit of lipbalm, it just depends on the occasion.
And that's me done. I have timed myself carrying out this routine a few times, and it averages out at 5 minutes 30 seconds to complete, which I think is pretty good, and very handy when you're in a rush.
Do you have a quick routine like this, or do you take longer? If I'm going on a night out my makeup takes at least an hour!
