I love layering up with outfits, and usually have to keep this for the colder months, however, there's no reason why a little bit of light layering can't be incorporated into a Summer look.
I really love this floral dress, the colour is very pretty and the floral pattern is so cute. The only thing I'm not so keen on, is that it's strappy. I don't think my shape suits tops or dresses that have little thin straps, although I love this style on the hanger and on other people, I just don't think I can pull it off.
This lead me to trying a few different ways to wear the dress, because I love it so much, I didn't want it sitting in my wardrobe and never being worn.

My initial idea was to wear a kimono or cardigan over the top, but then the dress gets covered up and it's a bit spoilt. I decided to experiment with different tops underneath, and started with plain grey and plain white, which worked fine, but I much prefer this striped number. I think clashing prints work really well together when the colours match, and this is the perfect example of that... although it may not be to some people's taste, I love it.

This is such a comfy, easy to wear outfit that I had on for a walk to the sea front. The sleeves kept me warm against the sea breeze, but the floaty dress meant I didn't get too hot and bothered in the sun. The flat boots were also perfect and comfy for walking in.
