Last Saturday, myself and Ray hosted the long awaited FABB event in Glasgow. It seems like we had been planning the event for such a long time, and I was so excited that the day of the event had finally arrived.
If you haven't heard about FABB Events before, we arrange events for fashion and beauty bloggers all around the UK, where we bring bloggers and brands together... Glasgow was our fifth event, and our biggest yet!
We drove up to Glasgow the day before so that we could go to the venue, plan our layout and finish up with any last minute jobs that needed doing. I hadn't been to Glasgow for years… I think the last time I was there was in 2006 for a Westlife concert! It's such a gorgeous city though, I really love it, and I definitely plan on going back to see a little more of the sights.
On the day of the event we made our way back to the venue; Fanellis in Merchant Square. Although I didn't eat anything, judging by the yummy smells and the look of some of the meals I saw being served, it looks like a great place to go if you like Italian food. The atmosphere of the whole place is lovely too, Merchant Square is like an indoor town square with a few bars and restaurants around the perimeter, there are even pretty fairy lights allover the ceiling. The event was held on the balcony of Fanellis, which turned out to be pretty perfect (it's so hard booking a venue for an event when you've never been to the place!)
We were joined by some amazing brands;
Appointedd - A company who allow you to compare beauty salons and hair dressers online, leave and read reviews and book appointments. This is just for Scotland based companies at the moment, but I can see this really catching on and spreading all around the UK really soon!
DIY Nails - A nail art design company which offers false nails, decals, bows and more... (you can see me having my nails done by the lovely Tammy in the first picture and I Instagrammed the finished look here - how cute are the unicorn decals?!)
The Pokey Hat - A Glasgow based online fashion boutique, perfect for girls who like to stand out from the crowd. I'm obsessing over these leather jeggings!
Beauty Kitchen - A company who specialise in handmade, 100% natural beauty products. They even use ingredients local to Glasgow where possible and package their products in 100% ethical packaging. Such an inspiring company... I'm definitely going to be buying a few Christmas presents from them.
Girlz Only - Dry shampoo which is available to buy in Tesco - they add volume, bounce and fragrance to your hair.
Iconic Body Art - If you want a tattoo but don't want the paid or anything permanent, then you will love this brand! Spray on tattoos that last up to two days, even if you shower... they are really easy to apply and look real!
Mallzee - If you've ever wanted a personal shopper, then the Mallzee iPhone app is going to be your new best friend. The app contains clothes from brands such as Forever 21, Urban Outfitters and House of Fraser and allows you to create wishlists, send items to your friends for their opinion and buy things instantly. I have a blog post coming up really soon about this, but just go download the app now... best of all, it's free!
Cocoa Brown - I'm sure you've all heard of this fake tan which is currently taking the UK and Ireland by storm; the key product is the express 1 hour tan which develops into a completely natural looking tan in only an hour, it has a subtle floral scent and lucky for me, it's formulated with dry and sensitive skin in mind.
Tropic Skincare - The company created by Apprentice candidate Susan Ma and produced with the help of Lord Alan Sugar. All products are natural, vegan and cruelty free... Susan believes whatever you put onto your skin ends up in your bloodstream, so with Tropic you always know that what you're using is completely harmless to your skin. They also have a makeup range, which looks amazing!
Crystal Clear Skincare - A brand who are dedicated to solving skincare needs by developing new products and treatments. They have a really clinical yet uplifting and positive vibe about the brand... I'm so excited to be reviewing their 10 Minute Glow Mask in the next few weeks.
Lush - who really need no introduction... Two of the girls from the Buchanan Street store came along to the event and brought their new Christmas products to share with everyone, I'm obsessed with their Rose Jam shower gel and the Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb which smells like Twilight shower gel from last year.
We also had the amazing Digital Guestbook photo booth taking some really fun photos of everyone, make up artist Sarah-Jane Lee Smith was on hand to do everyone's makeup and we had Amy Mcgilly as official photographer for the day.
All of the brands set up stalls at the event, and invited the bloggers to try out their products while they discussed their brands and answered lots of questions. I learned loads, and really enjoyed chatting to all of the brands who attended.
We also had some pretty awesome giveaways from Bank, Footner, Pearl Drops, ESpa and Ice Diamond Hair and gave out some jam packed goody bags with products from American Soda, Amie Skincare, Anovia, Atrixo, Batiste, Beauty UK, Blanx, Colour Xtreme, Ginvera, Halo Wipes, I Coloniali, Impress Nails, Jelly Belly, Kiss Lashes, La Perla, La Redoute, Look Fantastic, Melvita, Milkshake Hair, Nair, Neal & Wolf, Osmo, Phil Smith, Skin Art, Skinetica, Sparkly Nails, Structure Hair, Urban Beauty United, Veil Cover Cream & Vintage Cosmetic Company.
Thank you so much to all of the brands and bloggers involved in the event, it was such a brilliant day... I can't wait for the next one! My vlog from the event will be up on my YouTube channel tomorrow.
Please leave a comment if you would like to attend a FABB Event and let us know where you want us to come... hopefully we'll be in Liverpool next!
