So it's Valentines Day tomorrow, how did that come around so quickly?!
If you're loved up, I'm sure you have a date planned for tomorrow... I'm jealous of everyone who's going out for a posh meal, we left it a bit too late this year and couldn't get a table anywhere so it's a takeaway and a film for us.
If you are going somewhere and are starting to plan what you're going to do with your makeup, maybe this will help you with some ideas. I have seen lots of blog posts and tutorials for Valentines looks and almost all of them include heavy eyeliner with big cat flicks and a bright red lip, so I thought I would go for a 'prettier', less dramatic, girly look. This kind of look is perfect for day to night and as most men claim they prefer their ladies without makeup, a simple look like this will be sure to impress.
I wanted to achieve quite a glowy and flawless finish to the skin, so applied my foundation of choice; Illamasqua Skin Base using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush and then blended some of my Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer under my eyes.
With the base complete, I used a light dusting of Bourjois Powder Bronzer for a subtle contour and applied my Mac Cremeblend blush in 'So Sweet So Easy' to the apples of my cheeks. This is a very fresh, flushed shade of pink, which has a really dewy finish to it, which is ideal when you're trying to achieve a youthful, pretty makeup look.
When it comes to eye makeup I like to keep things quite simple. I applied two coats of Soap & Glory's Thick & Fast mascara which gives great volume and length to the lashes and I filled in and defined my brows using Billion Dollar Brows powder in 'Raven'.
To complete the look I treated my lips to Blistex Lip Brilliance which is a really moisturising and nourishing lip balm that is tinted pink... a lovely your lips but better shade. For the change from day to night with this makeup look I would simple replace the lip balm with a more pigmented pink lipstick.
What do you think to this look? Will you be recreating something like this, or are you going for a bolder look?
