Don't Like Dresses? Three Great Styles For You

Glitz and glam are certainly not for everyone, with many of us avoiding evening dress attire and fancy heels unless absolutely necessary. After all, what’s wrong with a nice pair of black skinnies and a smart top? However, whether you like it or not, at some point, you will have to pull out a party dress or head to the shops to buy one of the great value dresses that you can find, and when that day eventually arrives, it’ll be useful to know what types of dresses are available.
It may be a big step for some of you. Donning a dress is some women’s idea of a nightmare, let alone a party dress that is designed to stand out and make a statement. Don’t worry though, you can guarantee that there will be a dress on the rack that is perfect for you, your shape and your personality; whether you’re a wallflower or someone who wants to be bold and daring.
With plenty of dresses available, you will surely be able to find a party dress that, even if you have an aversion to them, you’ll feel amazing in. Here’s a quick guide to some of the styles that you may like to try.
Skater Dress
Super versatile and feminine, the skater dress is perfect if you’re not akin with dresses but you need to find something a little glam for an evening. Skater dresses can be dressed up, or down, depending on the occasion, meaning that you will always have it to turn to, no matter what you need it for. This style of dress is fitted to the waist, with a full bodied skirt; perfect if you have a teeny waist that you’d love to accentuate, without drawing attention to larger hips. They are also ideal for women who are slender, because they add the illusion of curves that aren’t there.
Midi Dress
If you’re looking for a perfect way to show off your curves, the midi dress is a perfect option for you. Ideal for an evening with friends, or a work’s gathering, the midi dress can be incredibly flattering while still looking smart. They may not be the most glitzy for a party, but they’re a great item to add to your wardrobe if you’re looking for something chic and sleek. Midi dresses usually finish just below your knee, so a pair of wedges or heels would elongate your legs for a stylish look. Take the G21 Long Sleeve Midi Dress, for example; team with some elegant jewellery and a metallic clutch and you would look fabulous.
Maxi Dress
If you’re really not comfortable with getting your legs out, take a look at the effortlessly stylish maxi dress. While prints and colours are perfect for summer holidays, a simple black maxi dress would look ideal for an evening do. Add a pretty pair of flat sandals, or heels, and a bolero, shrug or pashmina for added elegance.

These three ideas are by no means the limit when it comes to dress styles. Take a look around the high street and your local supermarket, where you’ll be able to find something that you will not only look fabulous in, but something that’s great value too. Emphasise the parts of your body that you feel most confident with and your attitude towards dresses will change in no time.
