It's been so long since I posted a 'What's On My Face' or 'Today's Makeup' post on here, I thought it was about time that I gave you a bit of an update. Although I do like to change things up day to day when it comes to lip and cheek products, the majority of other things stay the same for day to day, when I just want a simple, natural look.

My base is something that I have recently changed, and as you can see from the picture, it is a very recent change... I'm still using the sample I was given! When it comes to changing my foundation, I am very dubious and actually quite scared to do it and I don't really know why I'm looking to find a new foundation as I love my Illamasqua Skin Base, and have done for the past two years or so. Recently I have just felt like I needed another foundation to use alongside this, and that's where Clarins Extra Comfort (I've been using shade '107 beige') comes in. I've tried plenty of samples trying to find the right shade and the right formula to work well with my skin type and I think this is going to be the one I buy. I am planning on writing an entire blog post dedicated to this so I won't say too much here, but it is really moisturising and long lasting on my skin which are the two main boxes ticked for me!

Concealer is something I am really unsettled on, every time I run out I find myself buying a different brand or product in the hope that one day I will find my holy grail. For now I am using the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer, which I am actually really liking, again I have a blog post planned for this on it's own so don't want to go into an in-depth review but I do have to big it up a little! It covers all of my blemishes and any redness with it's yellow toned concealer and then I use the pink toned concealer on my under eye circles. I always find that this gives me full coverage for the entire day without drying out my skin.

After concealer I lightly dust some Bourjois Java Rice Powder under my eyes to brighten them and on my T Zone to give a little bit of a highlighting effect, this doubles up as a setting powder too without leaving my skin looking matte.

Next I fill in my brows using my ever faithful Billion Dollar Brows Powder in 'Raven' which is recommended for very dark brown hair or for people with darker skin tones, but you know me - I love a bold brow. This powder never lets me down, it gives the perfect natural but better looking brow and I just love it!

Most days I only wear mascara on my eyes, and at the moment I'm using Soap & Glory's Thick & Fast Mascara which I think is a great dupe for my Benefit Favourite Bad Gal. When it comes to mascaras I always go for a matte black formula which thickens and volumises before anything else... any extra features are just a bonus for me.
If I want to go 'all out' and add a little colour to my lids, it's usually a Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow that I find myself reaching for. I love the quick and easy application of these and the fact that they really do last all day even on my oily lids is perfect! My favourite shade at the moment is 'Pink Gold', a subtle but super pretty metallic pink shade - Ideal for Summer and it really ties in well with a pink lip and contrasts wonderfully with my black mascara and dark brows.

Like I've mentioned the cheeks and lips are the things I change up most often, I rarely have two days the same! Today I brought out my Hocus Focus Mac palette which had taken up home in the back of my Muji drawers, goodness knows how it ended up at the back because it's really gorgeous. It reminds me of the Urban Decay Flushed palettes to an extent with a blush and highlighting shade only rather than having a bronzer it has a matte blush option to go alongside a shimmery blush. I use a bit of all three kind of blended together to achieve a natural flush to the cheeks with that perfect amount of glow.

Last up (and most excitingly) the lips. I always apply a lip balm first, no particular brand just which ever one my hand lands on first and then I've got into the habit of wearing a stain or a lip tint before I apply my lipstick. I find that this makes my lip colour last a lot longer throughout the day and it can be really interesting experimenting with different colours together. Here I am wearing Me Me Me Cupid's Kiss Lip & Cheek Tint which is a baby pink shade with Mac's Snob on top which creates the perfect girly pink colour.
