I try not to get pulled in by blogger hype when it comes to makeup products, I like to buy based on my own judgement and when things honestly catch my eye but sometimes things really do sound too good to miss and this is how I ended up with this product.
I heard Miss Budget Beauty talk about this and saw her wearing it on endless occasions and after a while of resisting temptation I found myself in Boots with one in my basket.

I have always been a fan of Revlon lip products, and I have a few of the crayon style lipsticks which they have released in the past year or so (and I love them all), however when they released the Matte Balms, initially I didn't bother adding any to my stash. I do like a matte lip, but usually prefer the look on other people as I suffer quite badly with dry/bordering on chapped lips (especially in the colder months) and I have the thought in my head that matte lip products are drying... but what do I know(?), I couldn't have been more wrong! (Obviously a little exfoliation before application doesn't hurt but I'd say that for any lipstick really).

This has recently become one of my most worn lip products... firstly the colour is just stunning, it's a  bright, almost neon pink shade which somehow manages to still be really wearable for daytime. I find brights to be really flattering for AW season with a bronzed finish to the skin or a flushed pink cheek you can really make a statement.
The formula of this is very balmy to apply and surprisingly for a matte finish product it is fairly moisturising and  still has a slight gloss to the finish, they're not completely matte when applied and have an almost velvet like look on the lips.
The pigmentation and longevity of these is top notch. If I treat my lips by exfoliating before applying, I find myself only having to reapply after a big meal or drinks, otherwise it's on the lips to stay. I find that I achieve the best colour by applying onto the lips, dabbing off the excess and then reapplying another coat on top.
Lastly, I love the packaging of this, it's so easy to slip into my handbag and take out when needed, and because it twists up to apply, there's no mess at all.
My only tiny complaint is that the packaging does deceive you slightly into how much product you actually get... the product doesn't fill the full length of the bullet (a bit cheeky Revlon!) but still, I love this and I definitely want to add more shades to my collection.
