When kimonos really made it big on the High Street it was at the height of Summer fashion, all the shops were full of kimonos in every bright colour and pattern imaginable. Now the colder months are here, kimonos are few and far between, but why should they just be kept for the Summer?! They're ideal for layering with, adding a bit of shape, colour or texture to an outfit.

When wearing an all black outfit, I always feel smart but I do like to mix things up a little. I added the off white shirt underneath the jumper to bring a bit of light to the look and rolled up the cuffs of my jeans to break up the black between them and my boots. The kimono then adds a few shades of black, grey and silver with the velvety finish on the pattern in the fabric and some texture to the outfit. It also works to dress up what would otherwise be a very simple combination.

The gold hard wear on the boots tie in the dressy style of the kimono without being too much for daytime.. they're really comfy and easy to walk in, which is always a bonus for someone like me who lives in flats 99% of the time!
I have to apologise for my hair taking over the majority of these photos, I was having issues with the wind!

Will you be wearing kimonos throughout the colder months too?
