Well here we go guys, the very first blog post of the New Year, although I am cheating slightly as this is an outfit I wore a few days ago. I'll still be rolling out some round up posts from 2014 over the next week and I still have my Christmas presents to show you, so maybe this doesn't seem so bad?! If only there were more hours in the day!
I wore this outfit for a bit of an unexpected meeting, and although I was panicking a little over what to wear, it's ended up being one of my favourite ensembles I've worn in quite a while. I wanted to look professional, yet still true to my own personal style and I think I hit the smart/casual look as accurately as I could have wanted to, who would have guessed that this was completely thrown together last minute?!
The leather look skirt isn't something I would wear day to day, but dressed up for a night out or worn a bit smarter, I really love it. I didn't think I'd be able to pull it off (not literally) when I first saw it, but the panelling down the side adds a slight shadow and makes it much more flattering and comfortable to wear.
The cute little jumper with lace trim is very 'me', it's simple, yet really different and has a cute, girly twist to it... who would have thought this would work so well with a pencil skirt?!
Due to the cold weather and ice, I went for little cut out ankle boots (which are the comfiest ever!) and thick black tights.
For a bit of colour I went for a matching bright red lip and mani.
I hope you all have a nice, chilled New Year's Day... here's to 2015!
