I'm sure if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will know just how much I love food... I also love quirky cafes, so I was thrilled when I found this lovely little place in nearby village Stokesley.

Lotti's is decorated with 70s style tables, light fittings and chairs with the addition of vintage cushions, throws, lanterns and pretty, fresh flowers on each table. They serve a range of freshly baked cakes, scones, tea, homemade lemonade, ice cream, cocktails and afternoon tea.

Usually I wouldn't hesitate in ordering an afternoon tea, but we visited on a Sunday morning so I wasn't really hungry enough... I ordered a chocolate milkshake and a slice of red velvet cake and Elodie chose fresh orange juice and the most delicious looking chocolate cake I have ever seen.
My milkshake arrived in a chunky kilner jar, decorated with whipped cream and dark chocolate drops and Elodie's juice was in a cute flamingo glass decorated with a fresh strawberry which she loved.
The cakes were each on a mismatched, vintage style plate, and were cut fresh from cakes baked that morning. Both were packed with buttercream and had a thick layer on top of the cake and even thought the red velvet was lovely I must admit Elodie's chocolate cake won hands down. When she finally let me have a taste I found that it tasted as good as it looked! It was rich yet moreish, oh so moist and super chocolatey... I'll definitely be choosing it for myself next time we visit, which will hopefully be soon.

Have you been to Lotti's before?
