Autumn is finally here, my favourite time of year! Not only because I love the crisp evenings when it's chilly but the sun still shines and because I get to wrap up in chunky knitwear, scarves and boots while I walk through the scattered leaves on the ground but mainly because I just love Autumn beauty trends, there's something about this season which is just so much more 'me'.

I thought I would share with you, my five beauty favourites for Autumn this year, which will hopefully give you some inspiration for new products or colours to try over the next few months.
Navy nail varnish - Darker nails are a must for Autumn, and typically I would be reaching for a burgundy shade for my nails, however this year red's are out and blue's are in, for me, it's all about the navy nails. Navy is a classic colour which will look good against the backdrop of any outfit choice and this particular navy called 'Night Sky' from Alexa Chung's Nails Inc collection is just perfect, it's a true deep blue which flatters my skin tone, applies smoothly and has a lovely glossy finish.
Lot's of drugstore brands have navy polishes in their collections too, so if you're wanting to give darker nails a try without paying too much, there are plenty of options.
Dark red lipstick - I know I said red's are out, but that was purely for nails, for the lips I am all about the reds and the darker the better! My all-time favourite red is Liz Earle 'Hibiscus', a deep yet totally wearable red shade which gives a real 'Snow White' vibe to my pale complexion... a look which always works in the colder months for us pale skinned ladies. I'd also really recommend the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks if you're looking for an Autumn lip colour... everyone knows 107 is the perfect plum and she also has some amazing reds
Plum blushers - For Autumn cheeks, nothing works better than pinky plum shades. They give a really natural cold, rosy cheek look to the skin as though you have been out in the wind or snow. My favourite blush shade of this kind is Urban Decay's 'Rapture', a plum/mauve colour with slight golden undertones which is matte but has a glow to it when applied to the skin. I personally like to wear this with a matte base, as the contrast with the sheen of the blush is really stunning, it is quite subtle when applied but can be built up to give more colour payoff so you can play with the shade you want to achieve from this.
Metallic Cream Eyeshadows - Cream eyeshadows are my favourites all year round, but metallics always look better in the colder months, when the darker shades can be embraced. If I'm wearing a nude lip, I like to go all out with my eye makeup and that's when these products can be utilised to their full potential. My all-time favourite Autumnal shades for the eyes are burgundy and bronze; so Maybelline's 'Pomegranate' and MeMeMe's 'Willow Whisper' are my go-to shades. Weather worn together, alone or as a base for my powder eyeshadows, these always manage to give me the perfect Autumn eye. They're dramatic and always beautiful and for an eyeshadow noob like me, they blend out so easily, you really can't go wrong. When I'm feeling brave I also like to reach for green shades (Check out MeMeMe and Bourjois for green shades) which work well with the bronze base or with a simple black eyeliner flick.
Lip balm - The bad thing about the colder weather and the wind is the damage it does to our skin. For me personally it is always my lips which suffer most, so I really make a conscious effort to take care of them to prevent them from getting sore. Towards the end of the colder months last year, I jumped on the Nuxe Reve De Miel bandwagon, and I honestly wish I had given in to the hype sooner - this stuff is magic! Not only does it smell incredible; Terry's Chocolate Orange anyone?! But it feels  amazing on application, it's like suede on my lips and sinks in almost instantly... when they're sore, my lips feel so much more comfortable after using this and within hours they're nourished and of course protected from any further damage... I'd recommend this to anyone!
