I'm a big believer in the fact that if you can find cruelty free brands, you should use them... in some areas it's harder to find certain products, but these days there are so many companies publicising the fact that they are completely cruelty free, there really should be no excuse.

One of those brands is Paul Mitchell haircare; not only have Paul Mitchell products never been tested on animals, they never will be. In 1980 they became the first professional beauty company to publicly stand up against animal testing and last year they decided to stop selling their products in China, where sadly, animal testing is a directive. It's so good to see a well known, high quality brand actively promoting their beliefs in this way.

I've been using products from Paul Mitchell for years now, my favourites being the Leave In Detangling Conditioner (which I use for myself and Elodie!) and the Moisture Mist.
Recently I've been trying their Clarifying Shampoo Two and The Conditioner and the Super Strong Liquid Treatment.

The shampoo is a clarifying product, so I have only been using this every other wash as my hair isn't overly oily, I don't want to strip it too much and I generally don't use a lot of product in my hair. It can however get oily if I leave my hair washing to every third day and I do have a very sensitive scalp which is where this really impresses me... It's really gentle, smells lightly of lemon and doesn't irritate me at all. My scalp and hair feel deeply cleansed after using this, not stripped or dry, but healthy and fresh and my hair is always shiny and bouncy.

The conditioner is a leave-in product which I have been applying after using the shampoo to add some extra moisture to my hair from the mid-lengths down. This claims to improve hair texture, reduce static and prevent dryness, and I can honestly say that it ticks all three boxes for me! I'm not going to lie, my hair is in desperate need of a good cut, and the ends of my hair are pretty dead, but with this, it's not noticeable at all... my hair appears healthy, sleek and nourished, and it smells beautiful!

Finally, the liquid treatment is something I have been using alongside the conditioner to help to improve the appearance and condition of the ends of my hair. This contains marine extracts and vegetable proteins which replace lost minerals in the hair and replenish every strand... after using this for around two months, my split ends are improving greatly (wether they're actually being fixed or they're just less noticeable is debatable, but either way, I'm happy!) The fact that these wonderful products are cruelty free is just an added bonus.

Will you be changing your haircare to go cruelty free?
