It finally feels as though Summer has arrived which means out come the dresses and the shorts, and even more importantly, out come the legs!

If only it were that simple... Prepping your legs to get them out can be quite a mission, but with a few good products and a few simple steps, there is no reason why everyone shouldn't be able to achieve super smooth pins for Summer.
Exfoliating is the first step in the quest for flawless legs; a step which can be achieved with an array of products to suit your personal taste and preference. My choice of scrub right now is the Lush Let The Good Times Roll face and body cleanser; this contains maize flour and polenta in the ingredients which work as a natural exfoliant to scrub and soften the skin. I use this on my legs, arms, chest and face. It's a very gritty consistency which feels almost sand-like on the skin, it gets to work in buffing the skin to perfection without being too rough... I find that my body is left feeling incredibly smooth and fresh, dead skin is completely gone and as an added bonus, it smells beautiful.
I'm quite the body scrub hoarder and would also recommend The Body Shop British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub if you like something quite gentle and Soap & Glory's Flake Away Body Polish for something which will really buff the skin. If you prefer not to use scrubs on your skin, you can still exfoliate using your normal soap or shower gel by wearing exfoliating gloves while in the bath or shower... They're really inexpensive too and are the perfect alternative.

When it comes to shaving I always reach for the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shave Gel as it's so gentle on my sensitive skin. Teamed with my Bic Soleil razor, I can get a really close shave to ensure my legs feel as smooth as they possibly can.
After showering comes a really important step; moisturising. My choice of product is the Vaseline Spray & Go in 'Aloe Fresh', it's the lazy girls dream product! This hydrates the skin as well as any other moisturiser, but applies so much easier, gets in all of the hard to reach places and sinks into the skin really quickly. The aloe vera ingredient in the moisturiser works to prevent my legs becoming sore from shaving and allows me to apply it to my skin straight after my shower.

Some people whip their legs out without a second thought, but for some it's more of a big deal. Personally, I like to have a bit of colour on my legs to have the confidence to go bare. A product I have been loving so much lately for using on my arms and legs is the Sanctuary Spa Wonder Body which is basically a tinted moisturiser for the body. This evens out skin tone, blurs imperfections and leaves a really healthy looking glow - and who doesn't want glowing legs?! The best thing about this is that you can literally apply and go, there's no waiting around for it to dry or any need to wash it off and it really moisturises as it's applied. I can't get enough of this, and at only £8 it's really affordable!
If you prefer more of a bronzed look then fake tan is the answer... If I tan my legs I instantly feel better about myself as my legs appear slimmer, smoother and my confidence is sky high.

For a really natural tan which can gradually be built up the St Tropez In Shower Tan is the one, this is ideal for anyone who doesn't have the time to tan or finds it a bit of a chore. You simply apply this in the shower, rinse off and wait a few hours for it to develop, there's no need to walk around for hours in your underwear waiting to dry and no need to moisturise afterwards as it's really hydrating on the skin. This gives a subtle bronze glow to the skin and leaves me feeling and looking healthier and more radiant and when used a few days in a row a natural tan can be easily built up.
St Tropez have recently teamed up with Marie Curie charity and for every bottle of their In Shower Tan sold in or online at Superdrug between June 1st 2016 and 31st May 2017, they will be donating 25p to the charity - Even more of an excuse to treat yourself to a bottle!

If you prefer a deeper bronze look, my tan of choice is the He-Shi Express Liquid Tan, an instant tan which is completely fool proof. This tans on contact, lasts for days without going patchy and can be layered to create really dark colour on the skin, yet never appears fake. It's really quick and easy to apply and dries faster than any other tan I've used. Once I've got this on my legs I have the confidence to get them out all of the time.
