It can be so easy to get stuck in a makeup rut, you find a product that works for you and you just stick with it, but where's the fun in that?!

I love nothing more than discovering new brands, trying new products and finding something which works even better for me than my previous holy-grail. The latest to land on my desk are from British beauty brand Glo & Ray, who draw inspiration for their products from the natural wonder of light... Sounds good doesn't it?!

Dressed in super sleek packaging, the black and white matte finish not only looks really high end, but each product also has that high quality, ergonomic feel to them. Not too dissimilar to products from Nars, these are the kind of products you want to make the most of and show off on your dressing table.

The product which has wowed me the most is the base product (which is usually the most difficult area to impress me), I am very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the Colour Correction Luminous Base Foundation feels on my skin.
When trying foundations and base products, I more often than not find them heavy or drying on my skin which is why there are so few foundations I will use. However, this has walked straight into my list of go-to bases, yes it's that good, even for a foundation snob like me, and it's ticking all of the boxes.
It's very comfortable to wear, you can hardly feel it on the skin and yet it's really long lasting. It has a lovely glowy and healthy finish but it's a wonderfully natural glow... there's no glitter, no shine, just luminosity, which is one of the main things I look for to combat my dry/dull skin. This is all down to the micro-shine particles in the formula which not only naturally brighten the skin tone, but also work to disguise pores, and let's face it, who doesn't want that?!
The coverage is pretty high, especially considering how lightweight this is... I'd class it as medium, because it seems to cover any blemishes or redness and leaves my skin looking really smooth and even. I always say that if the base is on point, the rest should just fall into place.

On my cheeks is the Nuage Solo Blush in shade 'Dawn Seed', a natural brown toned coral shade. These blushes are a newly updated formula which contains refractive crystals to give a multi-dimensional look to the makeup. As you can see from the swatch on my arm, the colour is stunning with a slight gold undertone which transfers beautifully onto the cheeks. The pigmentation is really great, but when blended out it can be made to look very natural as it applies so smoothly... For me this is a perfect every day colour which is going to work all year round and is the blush I've been continuously reaching for this month.

I don't wear eyeshadow very often, not because I don't want to, but mainly because I don't see the point... You can blame that on my heavy eyelids which just love to hide anything I put on my eyes! Sometimes though, an eyeshadow will come along that makes me really want to make it work, and the Mariposa Quartet Eye Shadow in 'Liquid Metal' was a palette full of those. A bright highlighting shade, a very pretty, wearable green (always an amazing colour for us brown eyed gals!) and two stunning bronze/gold shades that I challenge anyone to resist.
I'm always honest on here, so I'm not going to ignore the fact that this palette was the most disappointing of the four products I've been using from Glo & Ray. After swatching the colours and seeing how highly pigmented they were, I was left a little let down with how they transferred onto my eyes. The highlight shade is the one which left me feeling it was pretty pointless, even when working really hard into the shadow and applying heavily with both my finger and a brush, there wasn't a lot to show for it on my skin... the green took a little bit more work too, but the colour on my eyes was very pretty once applied. The gold and bronze shades were by far the easiest to work with from the four, with a gorgeous metallic finish on the eyes and a really smooth, silky texture which blends really nicely. You can see the look I managed to achieve with these a little better on this Instagram picture.

Lastly and back onto a positive, I really love the La Amo Creamy Matte Lip Colour which I have been wearing in 'Memory', a deep plum shade, which despite being matte is still very hydrating and creamy to apply. The matte finish to this lipstick helps to make this really long lasting on the lip and the unique blend of Light Colour Fitness Complex which enriches the lipstick gives a brightening effect to the formula, something which I have never experienced with a matte lip product before, but I really like.
As with the foundation, this is also really comfortable to wear, it almost feels as though I'm not wearing anything on my lips and the colour payoff direct from the bullet is second to none - I definitely want to add more shades of these to my collection.

Have you tried any products from Glo & Ray before?.. Let mw know which products I should try next!
