As I mentioned in my previous post the shops filling up with Autumnal fashion pieces is making me wish away the sun and pray for some of that cold crisp air.
I'm always drawn in by the deep colours and the textures of the clothes so when the AW fashions hit, I get so excited to shop and style my outfits.
Transitional pieces are my favourite as they can usually be put together in so many different ways which is one of the reasons I couldn't resist picking up this high necked sweater and zip up skirt when shopping last week.
I've been wanting a button up a-line skirt for ages, but the zip on this one makes it a little edgier and much different from the rest. The sweater is such a basic piece, it's so soft, so comfy and a real bargain... Especially when I know I'll be wearing it all season under pinafores, tucked into denim and over dresses.
Since treating myself to these few pieces I can't help but crave more!
I'm a self confessed coat addict and I already own way too many, but still I want more. In particular the two Esprit coats above, which are top of my current wish list. The camel is so smart, yet will look just as great over jeans and a jumper and with such a classic shape to it, I'll be able to bring it out next year too.
In complete contrast I love the pink one too, it's such a great colour to transition from Summer through to Autumn with and the boxy shape is always a flattering one.
Printed dresses are a must have for the season for me too I love that you can get away with florals in the colder months too; if the colours are right, and this New Look dress is just perfect for layering with thick tights and cardigans.
I'm also going to do my best to make slip dresses wearable this Autumn. I have quite a few, and love them layered over simple tees... I think on top of thin knitwear they will look amazing, this black and mustard River Island one in particular will look amazing over burgundy or khaki green.
Speaking of which, I am in love with the River Island choker jumpers. I wouldn't put this green one under a slip because of the neckline, but on it's own with skinny jeans or tucked into the grey cigarette trousers and worn with ankle boots would look really smart for wearing out... I can even see myself buying these in a few colours!
What pieces do you have your eye on for the upcoming season?
