Happy Monday guys! I just can't get enough of velvet lately, and over the weekend I've been styling up some more pieces for wearable daytime looks.
All over the high street I'm seeing velvet dresses, velvet clutch bags and even velvet trousers, but it's all merchandised and aimed towards a going out or Christmas party look... And although I'm not the going out type (give me a box of Maltesers and a box set any day!) and don't want to wear fancy dresses all of the time, I still want to wear all of the velvet!
You may have seen me wearing the navy velvet bomber last week?.. Well that just started the obsession and led me to wanting more in my wardrobe.
I'm also loving the comeback of vintage style 70s and 80s rock band tees, which I used to wear about ten years ago, so I thought I'd work at combining the two trends and mixing up a dressy piece with something really casual.
A few weeks ago I was introduced to the shopping website and app Octer, a collective store of the UK's biggest and most popular shops where you can shop them all as one, or individually by shop or department... This was a dream for me, as I was able to type in 'velvet cami' and it instantly showed me a huge list of options.
As soon as I set eyes on the pink pleated cami, I could envisage the outfit I wanted to create and it was really easy to put together with endless options of band style tees available. I simply added skinny black trousers (this pair are so much like disco pants, but not as shiny - I love them!) and some heeled boots. I picked out my Primark faithfuls with their contrasting to the trousers, silver zips and then added a bit of rose gold with my new bangles - I love clashing metals.
How have you been styling your velvet pieces? Make sure to leave me links in the comments if you've blogged about it!
I hope you haven't minded the three consecutive style posts on here... I'll be back with plenty of beauty and a delicious foodie post tomorrow.
