Matte lips are perfect for A/W season and Seventeen have recently released an amazing array of shades in their Mega Matte collection.

I really rate Seventeen as one of the best high street or drugstore beauty brands, and use a few of they products in my regular makeup routine, so when this collection was launched, I knew I had to give them a try!

The first thing I noticed with these, is how sleek and high end the packaging looks with the matte and gloss chevron printed bullet, on first impressions I don't think many people would guess they were so affordable.
Even more impressive, is the formula of the lipsticks; as they're matte, I think we would all expect them to be quite drying and even a little chalky on the lips, but they're really not. I still exfoliate my lips on a regular basis and apply balm all of the time, which helps to make lip products comfortable However, I was really pleased to find that they're creamy and fairly moisturising when applied.
Looking Buff - A beautiful brown toned nude, ideal for everyday wear around AW season. This has become one of my go-to lipsticks for giving that slight nod to Autumnal makeup without going for a full on berry lip . I usually find nudes wash me out, so it's really nice to finally have a simple, understated but very pretty colour in my collection.
Rioja Your World - My favourite shade from the collection, a dark yet bright red. This is another shade I love to wear right up until Christmas, and although it's not as hydrating as the other shades, the pigmentation and long lasting wear of this certainly makes up for that.
I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a bright, statement red.

No Corals - This is such a pretty, girly shade that I think works really well with my pale skin tone. Although this is more of a Summery shade, I've still been wearing this one and pairing it with coral/brown toned blushes.
Back To The Fuchsia - I wanted to give this a go as I don't often reach for any bright pink shades, and I actually like this a lot more than I thought I would. The colour is very bold and eye-catching, and I think it would look fantastic for a night out with a dark smokey eye.
The swatches above show how well pigmented all of the lipsticks are (from top to bottom: Looking Buff, Rioja Your World, No Corals, Back To The Fuchsia).

The Mega Matte collection is made up of 12 high impact shades, so there is really something to suit everyone, and at only £4.49 each (or currently 2 for £8), they'll definitely work with anyone's budget.
I still can't believe they're so affordable, they really do look and feel much more high end!
