My idea of heaven is a beauty hall, full of all of my favourite brands and those I am still waiting to discover. Although the sales assistants can be daunting, I love spending my time swatching lipsticks and blushers, colour testing all of the base products and playing with any new releases.

Discovering new brands and new makeup is so much fun, and I always try to expand my collection which is mostly influenced by bloggers talking about things they use and love.
Being a blogger has it's perks, but one of the downsides is a constant wish list of products which never seems to go down, in fact, it gets bigger and bigger by the day!

When House of Fraser allowed me to choose any foundation and lipstick to try out, it's fair to say it took me a while to decide what I would like to receive. However, with my wish list in hand I was able to whittle it down.
After being made over at the YSL counter in Fenwick Newcastle, I decided on the Touche Eclat Le Teint foundation which had been used on me there as I was so impressed with it. YSL is one of my favourite beauty brands and I always think of their products as a real luxury, so to have this foundation as my own feels like a real treat.
This is the reformulated version of the original Touche Eclat foundation, which now has the same 'anti fatigue' complex as the much loved Touche Eclat highlighting pen and added golden pigments to give a brighter and more radiant look to the skin.

It's a very lightweight, smooth and soft to apply foundation which has a medium buildable coverage. For my dry skin, it's wonderful thanks to the fluidity of the formula, which helps with application and blending. I find that the finish is very natural, with a flawless and slightly glowy finish to it, giving a really fresh faced look.

I was colour matched to the shade BR30 which is a very close match to my natural skin tone. I always choose to be matched as exact as possible and warm up slightly afterwards with bronzer.

I'm not usually the biggest fan of foundation in glass bottles as I feel that a lot gets wasted at the end, but this bottle is just so beautiful and looks really elegant on my dressing table, I just have to ignore the fact it's made of glass.

When it came to choosing a lipstick, I knew it was going to be from Urban Decay; my go-to brand for lip products. The only problem was deciding which colour and formula to go with from their amazing new Vice collection.

After a lot of deliberation, I chose the shade 'Violate' from the 'cream' formulas, which are the original, easy to apply, luxury finish lipsticks from the range.
The lipstick is in the new UD Vice packaging with the pewter and gold bullet looking much more sleek than the old design.

Violate is a mauve/dusky purple shade with pink undertones making it a really wearable, everyday shade, especially for this time of year now that berry lips are back on trend.
The colour is long lasting on the lips, and as the formula is so buttery and moisturising, it's really comfortable to wear. It has fast become one of my most worn lipsticks and mainly lives in my handbag these days!
