Newcastle is my favourite city and I always look of excuses to visit.
It's the main city for us North East bloggers with regular events and launches to attend.
This weekend, Toyota have chosen Newcastle to showcase their brand new car, the Toyota C-HR, which is spoken about as 'the most exciting car of 2016' in their amazing mobile experience pod.
I have been driving for ten years now, and have been through my fair share of cars... Some I've loved and some not so much, so to be one of the first people to see this brand new car was pretty exciting.
The pod is located next to the Monument on Grainger Street (outside Urban Outfitters and Starbucks), so it's really central and in the perfect location to visit between shops, after food or while your boyfriend is at the match.
Inside the pod stands a stunning dynamic grade 'Metal Stream' coloured C-HR with LED headlights, boomerang shaped rear lights, floating roof design, disguised rear door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels... I think even someone who doesn't like cars would have their head turned by this beauty!
The interior of the car is one of the best I have ever seen, all black leather and silver edging making everything look really sleek and modern, the perfect match to the exterior of the car.
If you want to know about the advanced hybrid system, the engine or anything else, all the information can be found on the Toyota website.
The car has a premium JBL audio system, giving the best sound quality, with 9 speakers offering the closest to concert hall sound reproduction in any car in it's class.
While in the pod, I was able to create my own music soundtrack by mixing instruments and beats together, which was then emailed to me so that I could replay my creation... I was even able to take my 'album cover' photo and by doing so I was entered into a competition to win some JBL headphones of my own.
The car was parked in front of an interactive backdrop featuring landmarks from all around the UK (spot the Angel of the North!) and everyone in the pod was given the chance to customise the backdrop in their chosen colours and patterns before posing in front of it and creating their own GIF... Mine is on my Twitter if you fancy a laugh!
By doing this, we were also in with a chance of winning on the spot prizes including spa days, cinema vouchers and so much more... I had two attempts and was unlucky, but it's definitely worth a visit to the pod for this alone.
Of course I couldn't leave the pod without sitting inside the car... It's so roomy inside with space for five adults, the contoured bucket seats are so comfortable and I felt so high up and in control in the drivers seat - I could definitely see myself cruising around in one of these!
The Toyota C-HR is now available to pre-order.
If you're not able to visit Newcastle this weekend, the car will be at London South Bank 21st-23rd October and at Birmingham Bullring 28th-30th October.
