It's not very often that I buy into or take much notice of limited edition makeup collections, but I couldn't help but get on board with the beautiful KIKO Holiday Collection.
Packaged in vibrant red boxes, compacts and bullets, it's all really stand out, very fun and very festive thanks to designer Ross Lovegrove.
The collection as a whole focuses on sculpting the face with light and shadow, adding bold statements with the eye products and mixing in some sensuality with the lip products; All in all creating an alluring and quite sexy collection.
I have been trying out there products from the collection (plus a pretty glitter nail polish) and I actually found myself reaching for them all of Christmas day to create my makeup look, as I am so impressed with everything.
Firstly, the Intense Colour Lip Kits which I have in shade 'Dreamlike Rose' a stunning natural brown toned pink which come with matching lipstick and lip liner. The liner is really buttery and so soft to apply and as far as formulas go, this is the closest I've ever used to an Urban Decay liner, which are my all-time favourites. As you can see from the swatches below, the liner matches the lipstick exactly, so can be over lined on the lips to create a fuller look or can be used to fill in the whole lip before applying the lipstick for a longer lasting pout - perfect for nights out.
The lipstick is as wonderful to apply as the liner, and is really pigmented. I was half expecting the colour to be a bit none existent on my lips, but I was so wrong, the shade is amazing for a subtle but 'done' lip for daytime wear or pairing with a bolder eye.
For the eyes, I love the Double Colour Liners which I have in 109 with a purple liner on one end and an aqua blue on the other. Yes, they may be bright and they may be shimmery, but when they're the statement of the look surrounded by shades which compliment them, they look amazing.
I have been applying both shades at the same time, to create a really thin line along my lash line - simple, yet really effective.
The liners are really smooth to use and create bright, bold lines with and best of all, the colour stays put all night long without any smudging or fading.
My favourite piece from the collection is the Highlighting Baked Blush in 'Harmonious Bisque', a swirled mix of two shades of luminous blushers, which used together or apart are equally as stunning. The light and dark shades each contain a small amount of sparkle, which only transfer onto the skin with a glow rather than appearing glittery with a natural peachy colour payoff.
To finish the look I simply added a slick of black glossy mascara to my lashes and filled in my brows with a bit of powder and I was complete; Natural, glowy makeup with a cheeky bright and bold eye.
I think it's pretty obvious how impressed I am with these products, and they have only left me wanting to try more from Kiko. The quality of everything is comparable to high end cosmetics, yet the prices are really affordable and quite surprising!
It's also great to find a collection of Christmas makeup that isn't too glitzy or gold and therefore really wearable all year round.
