2016 has been a horrible year for most people it seems... Myself included.
I think I have cried more tears this year than ever in my life, but I still feel as though I should reflect on the year, learn from it and realise that positive things have happened somewhere in this whirlwind that has been twenty sixteen.
Let's back track a couple of days to New Year's Eve... The night I have been looking forward to for quite some time, not because I was planning on partying the night away, but because I am so pleased to turn my back on 2016. It's the night where you get glammed up, down a load of drinks and dance like no one's watching... Well, for some that is. For me, I made it all about family, so I put on a little bit of sparkle (it would be rude not to) and spent some time with the people who matter.

This outfit is easily my favourite I've worn in a long time. I'm a sucker for a monochrome colour palette, but the subtle silver glitter thread running through the jumpsuit adds some seasonal sparkle, and the burgundy boots add that much needed splash of colour to the overall look.
I'm also a sucker for mixing fabrics and I just love the contrast of textures between the ribbed jumper and the pleated, floaty culotte trousers on the jumpsuit.

The whole combo was the perfect balance of dressed and casual for where I was, and I am seriously looking of any excuse to repeat this outfit as soon as possible. It's one of those that I can just throw on and instantly feel somewhat good about myself.
What I'm Wearing: Jumpsuit: Quiz / Jumper: Mango / Boots: Primark

Finding some positives about 2016 was difficult, as the bad times always overshadow the good it seems, but there are a few things that I will try to focus on when I look back in years to come.

The first thing I have to mention is of course that I made That's Peachy my full time job and I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for making this happen for me! I upgraded my camera, redesigned my whole blog layout and worked harder than ever on creating the best content that I can... For That's Peachy, 2016 has been pretty amazing and it's made me love my job SO much.

Obviously my beautiful Elodie has always has been the biggest highlight of my year in more ways than one. She is excelling at school and makes me so proud with her ever growing confidence, imagination and artistic talents. I could not have got through this year without my little sidekick, who despite being seven years old, looks after me and keeps me going through the hardest of times.

In the Summer I embarked on my annual trip to London with Ray for IMATS. Every year we have such a good time, shopping, eating good (and usually unhealthy) food and talking about nothing but makeup. It's always such a nice break, where I get to forget about responsibilities for 24 hours and just have fun.

In August, our cat Binky had her kittens... Unfortunately only one of the three survived (which broke my heart so much), but it left us with our cheeky, bossy little boy Twix, who we just wouldn't be without now. Elodie loves the two cats so much, and although adding another kitty to our household was definitely not what we had planned, it's so nice for Binky to have company now too.

I got to see three of my favourite singers play live this year; Ronan, Will Young & Ben Haenow, who were all amazing. I love music so much and live music really helps me to relax, forget anything bad and really switch off and enjoy myself. I had never seen Ben live before, and it was something I just couldn't wait to experience, I'm such a big fan and he didn't disappoint... I can't wait to see him again this year too, and anyone who knows me, knows how much I love Ronan, so seeing him is always a highlight.

I have been lucky enough to working with some of my favourite brands this year and for the first time ever, some brands have made the effort of coming up North to see bloggers here rather than expecting us to travel to London to see them. It's so refreshing to know that brands are finally starting to realise that there are talented bloggers North of London, and that we're worth their time and effort too.

Lastly, I also got myself back into YouTube and started weekly vlogging again, which is something I have been wanting to do for ages. I stopped during Vlogmas due to personal reasons, but I'm hoping to get back on with it again soon, as I was really enjoying it.

Have you shared your 2016 highlights on your blog? I'd love to have a read!
