The Soap & Glory stand in my local Boots is one of my favourites, one that I'm always drawn to (partly due to the beautiful packaging) and one that I find myself standing at swatching everything!
I always find myself shouting about their makeup products, I'm yet to try something that doesn't impress me and my wishlist is forever growing.
I have been trying out three of their products over the past three or four weeks, and now that I've given them a good go, I wanted to share my views... Be prepared to want to go shopping if you read on, I apologise now for enabling you!
Firstly the Thick & Fast Mascara is something I knew I was going to love. I used a Soap and Glory mascara years ago, one which I received in a Christmas gift set and I loved it straight away... It reminded me very much of a Benefit mascara, but for some reason I never ended up repurchasing. Needless to say, when this arrived through my letterbox, I couldn't wait to give it a go.
This mascara is their High Definition Lengthening & Volumising Mascara with Collagen. It's a really glossy, black formula which instantly makes the lashes appear more dramatic and the brush separates them really well. I'm not 100% sold on the volumising claim, as I feel my lashes seem quite thin with this, but the length, separation and curl is amazing.
One of the most talked about Soap & Glory makeup products has to be their Supercat Eyeliner. As you will know if you're a regular reader here, I suck at eyeliner, so much so that I usually avoid it altogether, despite loving how it looks. The products I do get on best with though, are always the ones with the felt tip pen end, I find them slightly easier to use than any other liner, so I braved it and gave this a whirl.
The formula contains a high percentage of carbon black to give a really intense colour, which is great for me, as I have such heavy eyelids, but this still manages to stand out and give some drama.
Application is easy, even for a novice like me, and creating a flick is made so much simpler with the pointed nib. The liner lasts really well on the lids too, it dries quickly and I haven't found that I need to reapply throughout the day.
Last and definitely not least is the XL Extreme Plump Lip Gloss... Which I have to admit, had me feeling very sceptical at first.
This is a clear gloss, containing Lipswell, Superfill & Visivolume, all of which work to plump the lips and give an almost immediate lip filler effect. The packaging warns that you will feel immediate tingling and buzzing on application, which doesn't happen for me. The first time I used it I thought it was going to be a disappointment, but after around a minute, my lips started to feel the effects.
After about five minutes of the buzzy feeling in my lips it fades away and my lips are left glossy, soft and slightly plumped. It's nothing overly dramatic (let's face it, something like this isn't going to give you a Kylie Jenner pout), but there is a difference, which I notice especially on my top lip.
Lipsticks apply really well on top of the gloss too, so if you want to add some colour like I usually choose to, you have a great base for that.
Have you tried any products from the Soap & Glory makeup range? I'd love to hear some more recommendations for what I should try next.
