Every Christmas I focus on one aspect of the home to improve and to get to exactly how I want it... A couple of years ago it was the tree, last year I upgraded my decorations and this year has been all about the Christmas dinner table.

I was on a bit of a tight budget, but shopped in B&M Stores on Christmas Eve so that I could get some of the first reductions in the January sales, and I am so happy with the items I bought and how the table ended up looking.
I knew that I wanted to go with a gold theme, as I already had the table cloth which was given to me a few years ago. The choice of table decorations in store was huge, with every colour option you could want... I chose a similarly coloured table runner, with a little more glitz to it, to lay on top of the table cloth
I then picked up a box of snow covered pine cones which were reduced to just £1 to use in the centre of the table with some tea light holders and beads that I already had at home. I wansn't 100% sure that this would work, but Elodie enjoyed helping me set up the little display, and for such a great price I had nothing to lose.
My favourite part of the table had to be my new plates and bowls, which I'm going to keep for Christmas use each year. I love the simple metallic confetti design on all of the pieces, and they came with matching mugs... They look so much more expensive than they were, I just love B&M for a bargain!
In the sale section I found the plate chargers, which are a sparkly bronze colour and I just had to grab them. They were reduced to £1.50 each, and I think they look amazing on the table and match perfectly with the plates and the copper cutlery.

The last item I got from B&M were the sparkly coasters which tie in really well with the plates and chargers, and the addition of our gold rimmed wine glasses.
I'm not usually a sparkly person, but for Christmas I just loved it, and felt like the table looked really special.
Needless to say, Christmas dinner was amazing. Robbie cooked it while I set the table and played with Elodie and her new toys. It did take me a couple of sittings to eat it all though, there was just so much!

If you're looking to refresh your Christmas table for next year, I can't recommend B&M enough. You can still find lots of these items in store, in the January sales... Which I think is the ideal time to be buying extra pieces for next Christmas.

(Written in collaboration with B&M who provided me with vouchers to cover part of the cost for these items).
