New year, new blog series, and what better post to repeat than one celebrating five of the best things from the month?
I thought I'd mix it up a little, and rather than talk about beauty products I've loved this month (because everyone does that, and let's face it, it can get a bit boring!), I'm talking about days, purchases, songs, TV shows and blog posts.
If you're anything like me (aka nosey), then you'll know what I mean when I say that I love reading blog posts that let you know a little more about the day to day life of the person behind the blog, so if you're interested in what I have been enjoying, read on...
The best day of January for me, was New Years Day, I definitely started the year as I meant to go on. Myself, Robbie and a couple of friends went to Cheltenham Races for the day. We had a quiet New Year's Eve at home with Elodie and despite the early rise for the five hour trip travelling down to the racecourse (we were up at 5am!), it was my favourite day of the year so far.
We had a few bets, won some and lost some, yet managed to leave with more money than we arrived with, which is always a good sign, and it was so much fun. I had no idea I would enjoy horse racing so much. The weather was great, and when I say 'great' I mean not absolutely freezing, it was a good chance to dress up a bit, and despite the cold, I loved it. We've decided to go to Ascot in the Summer too... I'm already trying to plan my outfits!

My favourite purchase of January has to be the light box which I bought with the Christmas money I received from my Gran (closely followed by the bag in this photo).
My Gran asked me to treat myself to something I really wanted and as I have wanted to improve my photography for a long time now, it seemed like the perfect present to receive. With the addition of the light box and my new camera lens which I also got for Christmas, I feel like I'm finally producing images that I can be proud of.
A definite investment, which I've used almost daily since I received it and which I highly recommend to anyone who struggles with lighting and wants to improve the quality of their photos. (I promise to dedicate an entire blog post to this really soon).

I love music, so choosing my 'song of the month' is difficult, but I'd have to say my favourite song of the year so far is the Taylor Swift & Ed Sheeran duet 'End Game'. Elodie asked for Taylor's album for Christmas, and despite myself and Robbie not being big fans, we've had it on in the car ever since (and we both secretly love it). There are some really good songs on the album, I'd actually go as far as saying it's my favourite of Taylor's releases that I have ever heard, but track 2 is definitely the best song on there for me.

I might divide opinion here, but my favourite TV Programme of the year so far has been Celebrity Big Brother. I'm a huge Big Brother fan at the best of times and have always wished I had the guts to actually apply to be a housemate, but this series has been a little more special to me. I love Boyzone more than life itself, so as soon as I heard that Shane Lynch was going into the house, I knew that it would be my favourite series yet.
It's the final later this week, and I'm glad to say he's still there, although I do feel like he hasn't been given enough air time which might jeopardise his chances of winning... I'm still backing him all the way though! So yeah, Vote Shane!!

Lastly I thought I'd share my favourite blog post of the month, which has to be My Bucket List & Goals post. This will be a piece that I go back to continuously throughout the next twelve months, as I'm really determined to achieve everything on the list this year. I love setting targets for myself and pushing myself to do better, so by writing things down, I feel as though I have a point to prove and hopefully I'll inspire others to go for their goals and dreams this year too... Here's to a successful 2018 all round.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this post, if you've enjoyed it and if you're looking forward to the next.
Also, let me know if you want me to update the same 5 things each month, or if there are other things you'd rather know.
And now, let's all take a sigh of relief that January is over!
