Femmeluxefinery.co.ukEvery season fashion trends come and go, we're influenced by shops, by designers and of course by our friends and other bloggers into what we should be wearing and accessorising with. Autumn is my personal favourite time of year for many reasons, fashion and trends included. So it should come as no surprise that I am loving and fully embracing lots of the current trends that we're seeing in shops and on our Instagram feeds. I thought I'd share a list (because, who doesn't love a list?!) of the best pieces you need in your wardrobe this season.

Midi skirts just had to be first on my list. I have always loved anything midi length, as I think it's a flattering style for every shape and size, and can be styled in many ways whether you're dressing up or dressing down. For this time of year, a printed, pleated or plain midi skirt can work, wear yours with bare legs or tights, but always ankle boots and you just can't go wrong. I've seen lots of Autumnal shades and leopard print versions so far this year and I just love them all - they're a real staple piece for the collection.

Animal print seems to have made a full comeback over the past month or so, with leopard print and snakeskin being top of the hot list. I love accessorising with prints, think bags, boots or hats and they can be so easily styled with an all black or all grey outfit. I also think mixing prints with leather works really well for this time of year and I definitely plan on getting myself a snakeskin dress or blouse to wear with my leather jacket. The bag I'm wearing in these photos is one I have had for a few years now, but as the print is so classic, I am able to bring it out every year. Speaking of bags, if money was no object I would definitely be adding a designer bum bag to my wardrobe this year. There are so many that I love, so I do have my eyes open for a high street dupe at the moment.

I always love Autumnal fashion colours... Give me all the khaki, shades of brown, camel, mustard, burnt orange, burgundy and black, I'd happily wear the Autumn colour palette all year round! This year, colour blocking has made a big impact, whether it's on knitwear, bags or boots, you need something in your wardrobe. I love my nude and black boots, they make a huge statement and go with everything.

As a massive coat hoarder / obsessive / addict, whatever you want to call it, I have a huge wish list of different styles that I want to treat myself to. Top of the list for this year is a teddy coat... I wanted one last year and didn't manage to get one, so I'm glad to see that they're back on the high street again. I just need to decide which colour to go for!

Last, but not least I love this time of year so much because chunky knits are everywhere! I've got quite the collection already, and have recently added some new ones (because you have to, right?!), my most worn being this beauty that I was gifted last week. With it's bubble knit sleeves it's really different - it's so comfy, such gorgeous quality and so versatile too, I love it so much that I have it in burgundy too!
