I can't believe that it's December already... Christmas is well and truly on it's way and I couldn't be more excited!

Every year I promise myself that I will get organised and have all of my Christmas shopping complete by this time of the year, and I never quite get there. This year however, I am a little further ahead than normal and have managed to get a huge chunk of my shopping done already.
A couple of weeks ago, Elodie and I were kindly invited along to the Pavilion Shopping Centre in Thornaby, near Middlesbrough, to explore the shops with some complimentary vouchers and find some Christmas presents for our family.

It was a chilly day, so we wrapped up warm and set off on the train from Saltburn to Thornaby. If you are planning on visiting Pavilion Shopping Centre by train, you will need to get a taxi as it's too far to walk, however our fare was only £2.60, so it's nothing to grumble about, and of course we were dropped off right by the shops, which in this Wintery weather, was ideal. If you go by car, you can park on site

Our taxi dropped us off just outside Asda so we decided to start there. We were amazed at the size of the shop, it must be one of the biggest in our area, and straight away we found ourselves gravitating towards the Christmas themed aisles. We picked up some Christmas plates and glasses for our table and a few boxes of chocolates for extra presents for people. Elodie also made sure to point out some unicorn bedding that she hopes to find under the tree on Christmas day... If your little one is as obsessed with unicorns as Elodie is, then Asda is the place to go for stocking fillers this year, there was loads to choose from!

The next shop we visited was Shoe Zone, as Elodie had her heart set on some comfy black boots for Winter. Despite being there to shop for others, it was impossible to leave without treating her to something. There was plenty of choice in store, and I was able to steer her towards some boots that not only ticked all of the boxes for what she had in mind, but also double up as great, warm boots for her to wear throughout the colder months and for school - They were such a bargain too!

Anyone who knows me well, will know I love a trip to Home Bargains, such a great shop, no matter what you're looking for. I'm a sucker for the home aisles, the accessories and the cleaning products, but of course we were shopping for presents, so we headed straight to the toys. If you're looking for some presents for Christmas, they have so many branded toys and games, at much cheaper prices than other shops. We picked up a Nickelodeon Slime Kit, a Crystal Making Set and some books, all of which came to less than £10! It's such a great place to shop for presents for children when you're on a budget.

In the midst of our shopping spree, we found ourselves feeling a little peckish, so poped into the lovely Brewhouse Coffee House, which is perfectly located on site. Elodie chose to have a brownie, while I couldn't resist one of the huge, homemade scones with jam and cream and a pot of tea which warmed me through perfectly. The staff were lovely, as was the food - I'll definitely be heading back for more scones and I really want to try their chocolate orange hot chocolate!

One of my favourite shops for Christmas gifts is Wilko, and the store at the Pavillion is packed with stocking fillers, gift sets and decorations. I grabbed a few of the mens smellies sets, which always make the perfect add on for those men who have everything, I got a couple of novelty extras for friends, lots of chocolates to have in the house throughout December and I sorted out my secret santa with a couple of things - In fact, I was spoilt for choice.

Before heading back to the train station, we went into Poundstretcher to get some drinks and crisps to eat on the train home and I picked up some lovely Christmas cards for the family in Card Factory.

How are you getting on with your Christmas shopping?
