Autumn and Winter are the seasons I enjoy talking about most... I'm all about the fashion, the chill in the air, I love Halloween, Bonfire night, Christmas (of course!), New Year and those cosy nights in, sitting in front of the fire with a hot chocolate.

I thought that I would share my top five ways to enjoy some me time, some relaxation and how to embrace those nights in when it's freezing outside and all you want to do is sit in your dressing gown with the heating on and relax!
My favourite way to spend a cold evening inside has to be with a good film or series on the tv, tucked under a blanket with some nice food. We only recently signed up to Netflix and have been binge watching a few series on there; The Staircase, Making A Murderer, The Royale Family and of course Friends. I'm also pretty well known for pulling out my old One Tree Hill and Desperate Housewives box sets every now and again too, with the addition of a really good takeaway or home cooked meal, I don't think you can have a better night in.

Lighting seasonal candles around the house always makes me feel more Autumnal and cosy. Not only are they warming literally, but warming for the heart and they definitely make a house feel more like a home. I also love how they look as decoration during the day time and to add some ambience and atmosphere in the evening, whether you're looking for romance or relaxation, a candle is all you need. I've had my Diva by Harper Winter candles dotted all around my home during the Christmas period and the house has smelled incredible. The ultimate way to relax this time of year just has to be in a hot bath, surrounded by candles and with your favourite music playing.

As a typical beauty blogger, I do love to pop on a face mask and treat myself to a pamper evening every now and again, which ties in perfectly with the candle lit bath. When I go all out, I'll go through my full skincare routine, finishing with a moisturising sheet mask (my skin needs all the hydration this time of year!), I'll paint my nails, put a treatment on my hair and finish with a glass of wine and if it's one of those nights where I just can't be bothered, a quick sheet mask and the glass of wine still do the trick!

Something I have only recently started doing again is getting myself into reading, I love settling down with a good book and always promise to make myself read more. I have so many books on my book shelf waiting to be devoured, so I'm setting myself a target of reading twelve books next year (my bucket list blog post is coming in the next few days). This year I've only read five or six books, which is more than last year, but still not enough! I also really enjoy having a bullet journal, I love the creative side and I love the organisational side of it too - I think journaling will be featured more on my blog this year too.

Finally, I always enjoy baking so much more in the Winter time. I always enjoy being busy in the kitchen, it's quite therapeutic for me, especially if I have some music or listen to some podcasts while I work and having sweet treats to enjoy each evening when we're watching TV is obviously an added bonus. My favourite bakes are definitely brownies (my personal favourites) and tray bakes, which Robbie loves with custard and Elodie is always happy when I let her lick the bowl!

How do you like to relax during the colder months?
