I love Easter time, mainly, I have to admit, because of all of the amazing food on offer. Hot cross buns, roast lamb and of course all of the chocolate - It's a good time of year!

Since adding the Vonshef Waffle Maker (which was kindly gifted) to my kitchen, it's so easy to whip up a few waffles and I've been loving experimenting with toppings and recipes. I have been trying to come up with some healthy concoctions, however today, as it's Easter, that has gone completely out of the window. If you would like to see some of my favourite healthier options, let me know.

A couple of years ago, I shared some of my favourite Easter recipes on here and that post has since gone on to be one of my most popular (I highly recommend the brownies!) so I'd thought I better share this year's Easter treat I have been indulging in too!

Waffles are so quick and easy to make, all you need is a waffle maker and a few basic ingredients, that you probably already have in the house.

To make your batter whisk together;
150g plain flour
175ml warm milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch of salt

I then leave my batter to rest for half an hour, before pouring into the preheated waffle maker and leaving to cook for 5-6 minutes. It's that simple!

Next comes the fun part - adding the toppings! The whole family can join in... I like to put all of the topping ingredients in bowls in the middle of the table and then everyone can dip into their favourites. For Easter, I didn't hold back and added whipped cream, chocolate sauce, crushed and whole Mini Eggs and Creme Eggs to the top of my waffle. A really indulgent treat, that I'd happily eat more than once a year!

I hope you're all having a lovely Easter break... Let me know what you've been eating, or if you're going to give this recipe a go (tag me in your photos if you do).
